Sheldon attended Biscayne Southern College on the GI Bill and was on the Dean's List. He studied music and literature. Sheldon joined Conservative Temple Israel in 1974 and remained a member until his son's Bar Mitzvah in 1980. He then joined Reform Congregation, Temple Beth El and under the guidance of Cantorial soloist, John Blizzard, became a member of the Temple choir and learned the service now done at Temple Shalom.

Upon moving to The Villages in November 2000, Eveleen and Sheldon helped develop and became founding members of Temple Shalom. Sheldon has led the services at our Temple since its beginning. He also performs weddings, funerals and is very active in the religious community in this area. He is often called on to minister to people who have no Temple affiliation by making hospital visits and counseling on spiritual matters. Both he and Eveleen are golfers and enjoy playing as often as they can.
