NON TEMPLE LOCAL EVENTS THAT HAVE BEEN HELD
AMERICANS FOR ISRAEL RALLY HELD AUGUST 21, 2011, BELLEVIEW, FLORIDA

The Americans for Israel rally in Belleview on August 21, 2011, was a tremendous success and was heavily attended by the public and members of Temples, Churches and other organizations in the area.  Financial supporters including restaurants, medical groups and other businesses in the tri county vicinity.  While Temple Shalom was not officially involved or represented, members Elaine & Jules Dubin, Rita & Jerry Gallin, Ann & Marvin Jasper and Helene & Ed Ziegler were leading volunteer organizers of the event. Cynthia & Allen Bernstein, Marlene Goldberg, Gean & Russ Gaull and Marylen & Dick Smith helped with rally booths.

A large number of  additional Temple Shalom members attended the rally supporting Israel, a staunch allie of the U.S. and the only democracy in the Middle East with full religious freedom.  Temple Shalom member Eitan Zur was a guest speaker along with others such as Joyce Kaufmann who is a major long time radio personality from S. Florida and Rabbi Yossi Hecht, co-director of the Chabad Lubavitch Center in Gainesville.  Representatives from several Temples in the central Florida area had displays that included Israeli flags, buttons, and promoted charitable funds that help injured Israeli terror victims and soldiers.
